The InnoVision Awards Organization celebrated its 26th year of honoring innovation at the Annual Awards Dinner, held last week at Thornblade Country Club in Greer. During the event, winners across six distinct categories were announced before a large audience.
The evening’s keynote address was delivered by Doug Kim, attorney and founder of Kim, Lahey & Killough Law Firm. Kim, who previously served as board chair and remains an active board member, reflected on the enduring impact of past award recipients. He highlighted The Reef Ball Foundation, the 1999 winner in the Technology Application category. Since its inception, the international non-profit organization has placed over one million Reef Balls, undertaken more than 8,000 projects, and positively impacted ecosystems in over 80 countries. The Reef Ball Foundation was also named a CNN Hero in 2008 for its efforts in ocean conservation and the rehabilitation of marine environments through the use of ecologically designed reefs.

Dr. Charles Townes Individual Achievement Award: Stewart Spinks
Spinks transformed a single store in Greenville into a prominent regional chain recognized for its innovation and commitment to community service. Starting in 1972, Spinks grew Spinx into a network of over 80 stores across the Carolinas, known for their quality fuel, convenience, and customer-focused approach. His vision expanded Spinx beyond fuel, offering fresh food, beverages, and essentials, setting a new standard for convenience stores. A dedicated philanthropist, Spinks established the Spinx Charity Classic golf tournament, which has raised millions for local charities, supporting children’s health, education, and community welfare. Through his business acumen and dedication to giving back, Stewart Spinks has made a lasting impact on both the industry and the communities Spinx serves.
